Barcode Properties - Database Tab

If the barcode data is stored in a database table (OLE DB, ODBC), ASCII
text file (comma or tab delimited, etc.) or Excel file. It can be setup to be
imported to generate barcodes using the options in this tab.
Database Settings - The Database
Settings button allows you to set up the connection to database and to
choose the table to be used. Once the table is selected, all the fields will be
displayed in the Database Field user interface.
The appropriate field in that table can then be chosen to feed in data for the
barcode.
Obtain barcode data from a single database field -The barcode
data can be from a single field in the database. Select this option and click
on a field in Select a database field .
Obtain barcode data by combining plain text and one or more database fields
- You can choose to mix plain text with database fields. This is
especially useful when data stored in the database only forms part of the data
to be used by the barcode. When this option is clicked on, the screen changes
to as shown below.
Insert DB Fields - Click on this button to select the required
fields and the selected fields will be pasted to the text box on the left hand
side. Multiple database fields can be added by using this button. Plain text
can also be added by typing directly into the Enter text
and insert database fields text box.
Field Name - name of the input field. This variable name
can be used in the Linked Field feature. For example, you can have two fields,
one is Serial Number, the other, Part Number. This two fields are given
the field names serial
and part. In the
Linked Field feature,
the data of this two fields can be combined together to form a new field.
